When I was at university and told someone that I was studying civil engineering, I would invariably be asked what that actually entails, in spite of the fact that civil engineering affects everyone lives on a daily basis. I have always felt that it is a field that is not written about nearly enough, whilst other areas of technology will consistently gain more traction in the cultural zeitgeist. Civil Engineering is a fascinating subject that merits discussion, and this blog is an attempt on my part to do exactly that.
